Quick Resource Guide

In the past, I’ve published a general job seeker resource page for public perusal (I plan to update and re-publish the page again soon); but I thought it might be helpful to list some of the resources available as we continue a new week navigating life in a COVID-19 pandemic. Information and circumstances continue to shift and we are all dealing with some sort of financial situation. I hope you’ll find this information useful.

Find out if you’re eligible for unemployment resources

I’m sure you’ve heard the process involves tons of red tap, so be sure to file as soon as you can. Visit this website for instructions on how to file in your state.

Are you self-employed in need of assistance?

The New York Times published a comprehensive guide with important information for freelancers, gig workers, and more.

Are you a small business owner in need of assistance?

The same New York Times Article provides information on small business grants you may be eligible for and how to apply.

Get helpful tips for managing your online job search

If you’re currently unemployed or anticipating a possible furlough or layoff while sheltering in place, you may be searching for employment opportunities online. Consumer Advocates provides informative “how to” articles, reviews the top job boards, and offers helpful advice for achieving your job search goal.

Watch out for COVID-19 scams

As I mentioned in my last blog post, coronavirus scams are plentiful right now. Don’t be a victim. Check out this helpful guide from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
